Zion RV Camping & Hiking

We have lived in Las Vegas for 4 years and I still can’t believe we just barely made a visit to Zion, Utah! This is such an incredible National Park. The hiking is amazing and is for any level of experience. Even if you just want to walk around The Lodge. The RV park we stayed at was very nice & we have already made reservations to visit again this year. I have so much to say about this amazing trip.  I hope you get some useful tips.

Days we stayed: 5 (3 full days)

Weather: 60’s at night
High 90’s during the day

Location: Zion River Resort
RV park & a few tent sites
14 miles outside of Zion National Park

Zion is about 2.5 hours from Las Vegas. It’s honestly so close I just keep wondering why it’s the first time we made it up there. On the way up, you drive through a decent size canyon. Doesn’t sounds like much but when you have a big trailer behind you, it’s pretty darn nerve-racking. From Las Vegas to Utah you pass through the corner of Arizona. As you can see in the picture.

We researched places to stay with our RV. We found 3 locations.

  1. Zion Camp   Located right outside the park in the city of Springdale.  It has a Quality Inn as well.
  2. Zion South Campground   Located inside the park.  No hookups & closed some times of the year.
  3. Zion River Resort  Located 14 miles outside of the Zion entrance.  Full hook-ups.

The Narrows – Zion Hiking

The Narrows Zion Hiking by The Crafty Mom Design
Wall Street – The Narrows Zion

The Narrows is an incredible hiking experience.  It is also one of the most popular hiking trials in Zion, if not all National Parks.  I am so happy we were able to do the hike with a toddler (she was in a child backpack carrier the entire hike).  But I would not recommend it for just anyone.  This is a trail you should be well prepared for.  This was our first time doing this hike but we learned some things along the way.  Here are my thoughts on it.
